Use of Chainsaw from a MEWP (Unit 309)
Level 3 Use of a Chainsaw from a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP)
(Previously City & Guilds CS47)
Working at height with a chainsaw can be dangerous, so it is essential that operators have the confidence and expertise in order to avoid any accidents. Our Use of a Chainsaw from a mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) course will provide candidates with the appropriate techniques and safety guidelines to ensure they are confident at height whilst using a chainsaw, and make sure they are aware of the relevant health and safety guidelines, so they stay protected.
Who is it for?
Our one day chainsaw from a MEWP course is suitable for those who work in the arboriculture, forestry, utility, horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance industries, and have a need to work with a chainsaw from a mobile elevated work platform.
Candidates will be existing chainsaw users, who already have training and experience using MEWPs (Lantra Mobile Elevated Work Platform). They will hold Level 2 qualifications in Chainsaw Maintenance, Cross-cutting, and Felling Trees up to 380mm (previously City & Guilds CS30/CS31). They will also require a City and Guilds or IPAF qualification in safe use of MEWPs, but if necessary, this can be assessed at the same time as Chainsaw from a MEWP.
