Brushcutters / Trimmers Training – Maintenance and Operation

Our Brushcutter/Trimmers integrated training and assessment course is delivered by experienced Lantra instructors who will teach candidates how to use a brushcutter/trimmer safely and with confidence, and ensure they are aware of the relevant regulations and safety requirements.

Our Lantra training course in brushcutter/trimmer is suitable for those working in the agriculture, horticulture, landscaping, and grounds maintenance industries. This course is physical, so candidates must be fit and able to carry out the tasks required in the course programme.

Course content

  • Safety and risk assessment
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Brushcutter/trimmer components, safety features, and machine maintenance
  • Prepare the equipment for use with the correct fuel/oil mix
  • Pre-cutting checks and site risk assessment
  • Start the machine from both hot and cold start in a safe manner
  • Cutting techniques
  • Battery operated machines
