Level 2 Award in Rodent Management

Following changes to the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU) UK Code of Best Practice, training alone is no longer acceptable evidence of competence for the purchase of professional rodenticide. Those who wish to gain proof of competence will now need to pass a regulated qualification, such as this Lantra Awards Level 2 Award in Rodent Management.
 
This 1-day, face-to-face training course in Rodent Management will prepare attendees for the assessment. Successful completion of the qualification is recognised by the CRRU as acceptable at the point-of-sale for professional use rodenticides.

Who is is for?

This Lantra training course, and the linked qualification, is for anyone who undertakes management of rodent species in relation to pest control, in domestic, agricultural, or business settings. This provides the proof of competence require to purchase and use professional rodenticide.

The learning outcomes for this qualification are:

  • Understand the legislative requirements for rodent pest management
  • Understand the reasons for control
  • Understand Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
  • Understand the biology and behaviour for a specific range of rodent pests
  • Understand how to survey to assess the level of rodent infestation
  • Understand how to apply an eradication campaign for the specific active rodent species
  • Understand the control risk hierarchy for the control of rodent pests
  • Understand how to monitor on an ongoing basis to manage future rodent activity
