Field Crop Sprayer (PA2A)

Pesticides are very widely and successfully used in land-based industries, but they can be potentially harmful substances, therefore it is essential that they are handled, applied and stored correctly, therefore making training essential. Our Field Crop Sprayer training course is delivered by experienced instructors who will guide candidates through the appropriate and safe use of boom sprayers, in preparation for the Level 2 City and Guilds assessment.

Who is it for?

Our Field Crop Sprayer course is for anyone who uses vehicle mounted / trailer boom spraying equipment (hydraulic nozzle) as part of their work.

Before attending this course, candidates must already have their Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1) qualification, and be competent in driving the particular vehicle(s) used during the training.

Course content

  • Know the legislative and safety regulations relating to spraying application equipment
  • Assess the environmental factors relating to the mixing and application site
  • Read and interpret product information
  • Mixing and filling/essential PPE
  • Basics of spray application
  • Prepare and calibrate the applicator
  • The working principles of a hydraulic sprayer
  • Operate the application equipment
  • Sprayer decontamination, disposal of washings and machine storage

If candidates completed the above qualification through an awarding body other than City & Guilds, we will need to see a copy of the certificate
